If there is one thing many homeowners have a tendency of doing when a storm is approaching, it’s waiting until the last minute to prepare. A pair of individuals is aiming to change that by using broadcast television to reach homeowners and encourage early storm prep.
The TV special called “Get Ready, Florida!” will air on February 10 at 7:30 pm on WFOR-TV, the Miami-based CBS affiliate that broadcasts on channel 4. Just thirty minutes long, the special is intended to urge homeowners not to wait until the arrival of hurricane season but instead be proactive and begin preparing right now. The winter and spring months are essentially “the calm before the storm.”
One of the hosts behind “Get Ready, Florida!” used to work as the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Hence, the special will cover much more than standard hurricane preparedness procedures. Viewers will also notice useful information on the ins and outs of hurricane deductibles, parametric insurance, and the importance of considering flood insurance.
