Florida Homeowners Allege Insurance Contact Breach
An article published earlier this month on the website Florida Record discusses a pair of homeowners pursuing legal action against their insurance for allegedly breaching an insurance contract by failing to cover water damages.
The home located in Clearwater had an existing homeowner’s insurance policy when it sustained water damage, which was considered a covered loss. Even though the homeowners took the steps to notify the insurance company about the loss in a timely manner and followed all of the necessary steps, the insurance company allegedly refused to provide coverage for the loss, obligating them to seek the services of an attorney to defend their legal interest.
With hurricane season in full swing, cases like these may become more frequent as the chances of tropical storms or a hurricane increase. Make sure you know what your rights are and what is and isn’t covered in your insurance policy terms. If you need legal representation or assistance with your insurance dispute, we are here to help.
