A Florida couple has filed a lawsuit against their insurance company alleging that the insurer breached its contract, failing to act in good faith and deal fairly. Per the complaint, the couple says they suffered a loss on their insured property stemming from significant roof damage, a loss that was supposedly covered under their policy. However, the insurance company conducted its investigation and either wrongfully denied or underpaid the claim.

The couple believes their insurance company is responsible because it allegedly failed to meet its legal obligations as covered under the insurance policy terms. The company did not pay the full amount of claim benefits.

Remember: insurance companies are not necessarily looking out for your best interests nor are they your friends when a situation involving property damage presents itself. If you think your insurer is not committing to the terms written in your policy or may be trying to pay less than the amount of loss, give us a call and we’ll thoroughly examine your case.
